At this point I'm just trying to up my Apple Crisp from year's prior... first it was Mini Apple Rose Apple Crisps in Jars, then it was one big Apple Rose Apple Crisp, then it was Apple Rose Crisp AND a Vegetable Rose Pie, and this year it is a Bouquet of Apple Roses, served with Fresh Homemade Whipped Cream! Read on for the recipe...

Ingredients;

Filling;
6 Granny Smith Apples
1 tsp all natural vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tbsp corn starch

Crisp;
2 cups oats
1 cup butter softened (not melted)
1 cup whole wheat flour
2/3 cups brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Rosette Bouquet;
5 macintosh apples
1 lemon
toothpicks

Whipped Cream;
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp all natural vanilla extract

Apple Rose Bouquet Apple Crisp Recipe

Filling;
Wash, peel, and chop apples into small chunks.
Combine all filling ingredients in a colander.
Place colander in a bowl
Let sit.
(During this time make the topping!)
Scoop the apple mixture into the pan.

Crisp;
Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
It is best to use your hands to mix!
Distribute the topping evenly through the center,
and up on the edges like a crust.
This well is for the bouquet of apple roses to go in!

Rosette;
(Core the apples with an apple corer- optional)
With a sharp knife, slice the apples very thinly.
The thinner the slices the better!
Put the apple slices in a microwave safe bowl.
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon over the apple slices.
Cover with water.
Microwave for 30-60 seconds or until lightly softened.
In the well, arrange the apple slices into a bouquet of roses!
You want to start in the center.
Fold and twist apple slices together to make the roses.
Secure with tooth picks as you go and press into the crisp.
I did three rings of roses.
One in the center, five in the second row, and ten in the third.
Then I did two rows of apple slices over lapping eachother.
I started on the outside and worked my way in.
Remove the toothpicks.

Bake;
Set oven to 375°
Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes covered.
Remove foil and bake for 20 to 25 more minutes.

Serve;
If you make the crisp ahead of time,
refrigerate pop in the oven at 375° for a few minutes.
Serve with a dollop of homemade whipped cream.

Homemade Whipped Cream Recipe

Prep;
Use a stand mixer with the whisk attachment.
(OR a hand mixer with a whisk attachment)
You want the whisk, bowl, and cream to be chilled!

Recipe;
Whisk on low for 30 seconds.
Whisk on high for about 3 minutes.
THAT IS IT.
SO easy.
