DIY Flower Crowns with Boston Pollen on juliettelaura.blogspot.com

The other weekend I met up with my silver-haired sister, Krissy Price, owner and lead designer of Boston Pollen for an afternoon of flower crown making. She taught me her technique and we both made flower crowns! She is lovely, vivacious, and an absolute sweetheart. Read the step by step tutorial to learn how to make your own flower crown!

What You'll Need;
Vine Wrapped Wire
(two widths, one thick and one thin)
Green Floral Tape
Scissors
(ideally floral scissors)
Flowers
(you will want a variety, small and large, and some greenery as well)

What To Do;
Start by measuring around your head where you want the crown to sit.
Do you want it across your forehead like Krissy's, or on top like mine?
 Cut the thicker vine wrapped wire to wrap around and leave a few inches of excess.
Starting with the smaller flowers begin taping them down by the stems.
Stretch the floral tape as you go to activate it so it sticks.
You will not be cutting the tape as you go, instead working in one long piece connected to the roll.
Build up from smaller to larger flowers until you reach the largest statement flower.
Secure this flower and cut the tape.
Here is where you will switch direction for the smallest side.
Either just start taping the flowers down largest to smallest in the opposite direction,
OR, make a small cluster of flowers in a boutonniere sort of shape, secure together with floral tape, and then secure to the crown.
If there is ever a spot where the floral tape isn't working, the thinner vine wrapped wire will do the trick.
Wrap around your head and tie the ends together to secure.
We hope you love your new flower crown!
